Learning the RStudio Interface
When you first open RStudio, you will see the following user interface. The initial window is made up of the console workspace (left), a top-right frame consisting of the workspace and history tabs, and a bottom-right frame consisting of the files, plots, packages, help and viewer tabs. Console Workspace
The console workspace is your current working environment and includes any user-defined objects (vectors, matrices, data frames, lists, functions). At the end of a session, the user can save an image of the current console workspace that is automatically reloaded the next time RStudio is started. A few basic notes:
Top-Right Frame
The top-right frame consists of the environment/workspace tab and a history tab.
Bottom-Right Frame
The bottom-right frame consists of the files, plots, packages, and help tabs.
Source Frame
The source frame is a blank canvas that allows you to enter and save multiple lines of code. |
